Continued Growth of Free Trade Zones in Panama

Recently, the National Commission of Free Trade Zones, under the Ministry of Commerce and Industries (MICI), approved the establishment of two new companies in the Panapark Free Zone and Marpesca Free Zone. These companies will make a joint initial investment of over $23 million.

Panama has more than a dozen free trade zones, which can be established throughout most of the national territory and can be private, state-owned, or mixed.
